BKT – Bhuj Flagship Plant (Gujarat, India)
$500M greenfield flagship plant inaugurated December 2015; ~120,000 metric tons/year capacity (75% agricultural / 25% industrial). Located near Port of Mundra (~60 km) for efficient export. Integrated carbon black plant (165,600 t/yr capacity, expanded 2022) — one of the few tire makers globally that produces its own carbon black feedstock. Further expansion announced targeting 600,000 t/yr total group capacity. The most capital-intensive single agricultural tire plant built in the 21st century. Bhuj is in earthquake-prone Gujarat (2001 earthquake devastated the region); BKT's investment here represents a calculated risk for cost-efficient coastal location.
