Civil & Marine Port Talbot GGBFS Plant
Processes blast furnace slag from Tata Steel Port Talbot (the UK's largest steelwork) into cementitious GGBFS. Tata Steel announced Port Talbot's transition from blast furnace to electric arc furnace in 2023 — when this conversion completes (~2027), EAF slag will replace BF slag, eliminating Civil & Marine's cementitious feedstock. This is the clearest documented example of the structural GGBFS decline in action.
