Primary GOES production facility for thyssenkrupp Electrical Steel GmbH. Located in Gelsenkirchen, NRW. Produces grain-oriented electrical steel under the powercore® brand, primarily for European transformer manufacturers (substations, wind turbines, power distribution). One of only two GOES production sites in Europe (alongside Isbergues, France). Implemented temporary shutdown at year-end 2025/2026 due to tripling of Chinese GOES imports into the EU market. Also has R&D department co-located in Gelsenkirchen.
