The President may remove the entire existing Board if he finds the Association is acting against the public interest or not doing its duties. The President can then appoint new Board members, for the rest of the original terms, following section 6754 and with the Senate’s approval under the procedures of Senate Resolution 116 of the 112th Congress. A single Board member can be removed only for neglect of duty or malfeasance (wrongdoing) in office. After giving the Board notice, the President or someone he names may suspend any bylaw, standard, or action of the Association that he believes goes against the purposes of this subchapter.
