Title 16 › Chapter 1— NATIONAL PARKS, MILITARY PARKS, MONUMENTS, AND SEASHORES › Subchapter LXXV— WHISKEYTOWN-SHASTA-TRINITY NATIONAL RECREATION AREA › § 460q–7
Adds land to the Shasta National Forest by extending its outer border to include the lands listed in the Act of March 19, 1948 (62 Stat. 83) and sections 22 and 27 in township 35 north, range 1 west, Mount Diablo base and meridian. It also expands the Trinity National Forest to include all of sections 4, 5, and 8; the east half and northwest quarter of section 6; the east half of section 7; the northwest quarter of section 17; and the northeast quarter of section 18, township 33 north, range 8 west, Mount Diablo base and meridian. Subject to any valid claims or entries now existing or later kept, all U.S. public lands and lands the United States has or will acquire or reserve for use with the Shasta, Clair Engle, or Lewiston Reservoirs of the Central Valley Project that lie inside those forest boundaries and are not already part of the forests are added to the appropriate national forest. Lands bought for recreation in the Shasta or Clair Engle‑Lewiston units are also added. Land inside the flow lines of any reservoir run by the Department of the Interior, or land needed for operating the Central Valley Project, will remain under the control of the Secretary of the Interior as he decides is required.
