After certification by the Secretary of Agriculture, the Secretary of the Treasury must, at fiscal‑year end, pay Minnesota 0.75% of the appraised value of national‑forest lands in the area in section 577d–1. Payments come from unappropriated national‑forest receipts and are split among the three counties by each county’s share. First payment due at close of fiscal year 1959. The Secretary of Agriculture sets appraisals every 10 years; values are final. Section 500 does not apply to these lands.
