State education agencies that get grants must, every second year, send the Secretary a report based on the reports they received under section 6841. The report must describe the programs and activities they run under this part and say how well those programs improved education for English learners. Every second year the Secretary must send a report to the House Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions. That report must include nine types of information, including: what programs were used and how well they improved academic achievement and English proficiency; the kinds of language instruction programs used by local agencies or eligible entities; a critical summary of data reported under section 6841(a); a description of technical assistance provided under section 6821(b)(2)(D); an estimate of the number of certified or licensed teachers now and the number needed for the next 5 fiscal years; the most recent evaluation findings under section 7981; how many programs were ended for not meeting goals; how many English learners left funded language programs; and other relevant evaluation and report information when applicable.
