Title 38 › Part V— BOARDS, ADMINISTRATIONS, AND SERVICES › Chapter 74— VETERANS HEALTH ADMINISTRATION—PERSONNEL › Subchapter II— COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AND PERSONNEL ADMINISTRATION › § 7425
Health-care workers (like physicians, dentists, nurses, and others) hired by the Administration under sections 7306, 7401(1), 7405, or 7406 are not covered by eight specific civil service law parts, including section 413 of the Civil Service Reform Act and several subchapters of title 5. Also, unless a later law specifically names a part of this chapter or section 7306, other civil service laws that conflict with them do not change or replace those rules. The Administration must give family and medical leave to people appointed to positions described in section 7421(b) who are paid by the Administration, in the same way and with the same limits as the family and medical leave under subchapter V of chapter 63 of title 5 for employees defined in section 6381(1), to the maximum extent practicable.
