Title 49 › Subtitle SUBTITLE VIII— PIPELINES › Chapter 601— SAFETY › § 60125
Gives the Secretary specific money for pipeline safety work in fiscal years 2021, 2022, and 2023. From fees under section 60301 the amounts are $156,400,000 for 2021, $158,500,000 for 2022, and $162,700,000 for 2023. In each of those years $9,000,000 is set aside to carry out section 12 of the Pipeline Safety Improvement Act of 2002, and $63,000,000, $66,000,000, and $69,000,000 are for grants in 2021, 2022, and 2023 respectively. From the Oil Spill Liability Trust Fund the amounts are $27,000,000 for 2021, $27,650,000 for 2022, and $28,700,000 for 2023, with $3,000,000 each year for section 12 and $11,000,000, $12,000,000, and $13,000,000 for grants. From fees under section 60302, $8,000,000 is available each year for 2021–2023 to carry out section 60141. The law also specifies smaller dollar splits from those funds to carry out parts of the PIPES Act of 2020 (totaling amounts like $1,520,000; $2,300,000; $1,600,000; $1,800,000; and $2,455,000 for each year as listed) with exact shares taken from the 60301 fees and the Oil Spill Trust Fund in each year. The Secretary may set up a grant program for state, county, and local governments in high-consequence areas for emergency response training and help, with $10,000,000 authorized each year for 2021–2023. The Secretary may also credit reimbursements from non-government sources back to the appropriations for training.
