An agency may only remove or discipline an administrative law judge it employs for good cause. The Merit Systems Protection Board must hold a hearing and decide that good cause exists before the agency can act. This rule covers firing, suspension, lowering job grade, cutting pay, furloughs of 30 days or less, and actions under sections 7532, 3502, and 1215.
