Entry Ban for New Harvard Students
You cannot enter the United States to begin studying at Harvard University on an F, M, or J visa after June 4, 2025 while this rule is in effect. The suspension applies to new arrivals and lasts for 6 months from June 4, 2025, unless it is extended or you are granted a national-interest exception.
Possible Visa Revocation for Current Students
If you are currently in the United States studying at Harvard on an F, M, or J visa, the Secretary of State may consider revoking your visa under INA section 221(i). The government will review current visa holders at Harvard at the Secretary's discretion after June 4, 2025.
Limits on Harvard’s SEVP/SEVIS Participation
The government may limit or suspend Harvard University's ability to participate in the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) and the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS). If Harvard's SEVP/SEVIS participation is restricted, you may lose the paperwork or sponsorship needed for study-related visas, unless you receive a national-interest exception.
