Presidential Fitness Test Reestablished
The Presidential Fitness Test is reestablished and shall be administered by the Secretary of Health and Human Services with the support of the Secretary of Education, effective with this order signed July 31, 2025. The Council will use the Test as the main assessment tool for a Presidential Fitness Award.
Expansion of School-Based Fitness Programs
The President's Council will recommend development and promotion of Presidential challenges and school-based programs that reward excellence in physical education and expand opportunities for youth sports and physical fitness. These efforts are framed to advance prior to and during the 2026 semiquincentennial and over the next 3 years.
HHS Support Subject to Appropriations
The Department of Health and Human Services shall provide funding and administrative and technical support to the Council as it may require, 'to the extent permitted by law and as authorized by existing appropriations,' and agencies shall assist the Council subject to availability of funds. The Council may terminate 2 years from the date of this order unless extended.
