Federal Grants and Contracts May Be Cut

Heads of executive departments and agencies, working with the OMB Director, must identify Federal funds — including grants and contracts — provided to jurisdictions named by the Attorney General that may be suspended or terminated, as appropriate and consistent with law. Any suspension or termination would be carried out consistent with applicable law and subject to the availability of appropriations.

Attorney General to Name Cashless Jurisdictions

Within 30 days of August 25, 2025, the Attorney General must give the President a list of States and local jurisdictions that have, in the Attorney General's opinion, substantially eliminated cash bail for crimes that pose a clear threat to public safety. The list must cover offenses including violent, sexual, or indecent acts, burglary, looting, and vandalism, and the Attorney General will update the list as necessary.
