Project auto-approved if no timely protest

If no protest is filed by 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time on June 12, 2026, or if any filed protest is withdrawn within 30 days after that time, the proposed abandonment will be deemed authorized effective the day after the protest deadline. If a protest is filed and not withdrawn within 30 days after the deadline, the Commission will consider the request.

Abandoning wells and pipelines in Montana

If you live in Fallon County, Montana, WBI Energy filed on April 2, 2026 to abandon five natural gas storage wells, about 4.12 miles of three-inch- and four-inch-diameter storage pipeline, and two aboveground measurement facilities at the Baker Storage Field. WBI Energy says the project is needed to maintain the integrity of the Baker Storage Field.
