Leases Reinstated Retroactively
The Bureau of Land Management proposes to reinstate two terminated oil and gas leases (NMNM130340 and NMNM130344) for Southland Royalty Company. The reinstatement is effective August 1, 2017 and will last no greater than two years.
Higher Rent and 20% Royalty
The reinstated leases will carry a rental charge of $20 per acre per year and a royalty rate of 20 percent. Those increased financial terms apply to the reinstated leases as part of the amended lease terms.
Lessee Paid Back Rentals and Fees
Southland Royalty Company paid the required rentals accruing from the date of termination, paid required administration fees, and reimbursed the BLM for the cost of publishing this notice. Those payments were made as part of the reinstatement process.
