- Families and children: CACFP reaches children in centers, family day care homes, emergency shelters, and after-school programs. In 2025 it served more than 4.5 million children and is linked in studies to better cognitive, social, emotional, and physical outcomes.
- Adults in care: The program supports adults in adult day care by supplying meals and snacks and served more than 120,000 adults in 2025.
- Providers and scale: CACFP pairs sites with nonprofit sponsors or State agencies to boost oversight and help small child and adult care businesses, especially in rural areas. The program delivered almost 1.7 billion meals and snacks in 2025.
