Summary

Congress sets aside money for several programs for fiscal years 2025 through 2029. The funds stay available until they are spent. To carry out section 3141, funds are $170,000,000 for 2025; $195,000,000 for 2026; $220,000,000 for 2027; $245,000,000 for 2028; and $270,000,000 for 2029. For section 3143: $90,000,000 for 2025; $100,000,000 for 2026; $110,000,000 for 2027; $120,000,000 for 2028; $130,000,000 for 2029. For section 3147: $25,000,000 for 2025; $30,000,000 for 2026; $35,000,000 for 2027; $40,000,000 for 2028; $45,000,000 for 2029. For section 3149 (except subsections (d) and (e)): $65,000,000 for 2025; $75,000,000 for 2026; $85,000,000 for 2027; $95,000,000 for 2028; $105,000,000 for 2029. For section 3149(d): $75,000,000 for each year 2025 through 2029. For section 3149(e): $35,000,000 each year 2025 through 2029 for paragraph (2)(A), and $5,000,000 each year 2025 through 2027 for paragraph (2)(B). For section 3154d: $5,000,000 each year 2025 through 2029. For section 3154e: $50,000,000 each year 2025 through 2029, of which $10,000,000 each year 2025 through 2029 must be used for subsection (c). For section 3154h: $20,000,000 each year 2025 through 2029. For section 3200: $5,000,000 each year 2025 through 2029. For salaries and expenses to run this chapter: $33,377,000 for fiscal year 2004, and whatever sums are needed for each year after that.

(a)There are authorized to be appropriated to carry out section 3141 of this title, to remain available until expended—

(1)$170,000,000 for fiscal year 2025;

(2)$195,000,000 for fiscal year 2026;

(3)$220,000,000 for fiscal year 2027;

(4)$245,000,000 for fiscal year 2028; and

(5)$270,000,000 for fiscal year 2029.

(b)There are authorized to be appropriated to carry out section 3143 of this title, to remain available until expended—

(1)$90,000,000 for fiscal year 2025;

(2)$100,000,000 for fiscal year 2026;

(3)$110,000,000 for fiscal year 2027;

(4)$120,000,000 for fiscal year 2028; and

(5)$130,000,000 for fiscal year 2029.

(c)There are authorized to be appropriated to carry out section 3147 of this title, to remain available until expended—

(1)$25,000,000 for fiscal year 2025;

(2)$30,000,000 for fiscal year 2026;

(3)$35,000,000 for fiscal year 2027;

(4)$40,000,000 for fiscal year 2028; and

(5)$45,000,000 for fiscal year 2029.

(d)There are authorized to be appropriated to carry out section 3149 of this title (other than subsections (d) and (e)), to remain available until expended—

(1)$65,000,000 for fiscal year 2025;

(2)$75,000,000 for fiscal year 2026;

(3)$85,000,000 for fiscal year 2027;

(4)$95,000,000 for fiscal year 2028; and

(5)$105,000,000 for fiscal year 2029.

(e)There is authorized to be appropriated to carry out section 3149(d) of this title $75,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2025 through 2029, to remain available until expended.

(f)There are authorized to be appropriated to carry out section 3149(e) of this title, to remain available until expended—

(1)to carry out paragraph (2)(A), $35,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2025 through 2029; and

(2)to carry out paragraph (2)(B), $5,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2025 through 2027.

(g)There is authorized to be appropriated to carry out section 3154d of this title $5,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2025 through 2029, to remain available until expended.

(h)There is authorized to be appropriated to carry out section 3154e of this title $50,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2025 through 2029, to remain available until expended, of which $10,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2025 through 2029 shall be used to carry out subsection (c) of that section.

(i)There is authorized to be appropriated to carry out section 3154h of this title $20,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2025 through 2029, to remain available until expended.

(j)There is authorized to be appropriated to carry out section 3200 of this title $5,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2025 through 2029, to remain available until expended.

(k)There are authorized to be appropriated for salaries and expenses of administering this chapter, to remain available until expended—

(1)$33,377,000 for fiscal year 2004; and

(2)such sums as are necessary for each fiscal year thereafter.

A prior section 3231, Pub. L. 89–136, title VIII, § 801, as added Pub. L. 93–288, title V, § 501, May 22, 1974, 88 Stat. 160; amended Pub. L. 100–707, title I, § 109(r)(1), Nov. 23, 1988, 102 Stat. 4710, set forth congressional statement of purpose and defined “major disaster”, prior to repeal by Pub. L. 105–393, § 102(c). A prior section 701 of Pub. L. 89–136 was classified to section 3211 of this title prior to repeal by Pub. L. 105–393, § 102(b)(3).

Amendments

2025—Pub. L. 118–272 added subsecs. (a) to (j), redesignated former subsec. (b) as (k), and struck out former subsec. (a) which authorized appropriations for economic development assistance programs to carry out this chapter for fiscal years 2004 to 2008. 2004—Pub. L. 108–373 reenacted section catchline without change and amended text generally. Prior to amendment, text read as follows: “There are authorized to be appropriated to carry out this chapter $397,969,000 for fiscal year 1999, $368,000,000 for fiscal year 2000, $335,000,000 for fiscal year 2001, $335,000,000 for fiscal year 2002, and $335,000,000 for fiscal year 2003, to remain available until expended.”
