FEMA Seals More Flood Map Changes: Deja Vu All Over Again

Published Date: 8/21/2026

Notice

Summary

New or modified Base (1-percent annual chance) Flood Elevations (BFEs), base flood depths, Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA) boundaries or zone designations, and/or regulatory floodways (hereinafter referred to as flood hazard determinations) as shown on the indicated Letter of Map Revision (LOMR) for each of the communities listed in the table below are finalized. Each LOMR revises the Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs), and in some cases the Flood Insurance Study (FIS) reports, currently in effect for the listed communities.

Analyzed Economic Effects

3 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 0 costs, 2 mixed.

Updated flood maps used for policies

FEMA finalized new or modified flood hazard determinations (via Letters of Map Revision) for the listed communities, and the “current effective community number” must be used for all new flood insurance policies and renewals. The LOMRs that revise Flood Insurance Rate Maps and, in some cases, Flood Insurance Study reports were finalized on the dates shown in the table (examples: Dec. 26, 2025; Jan. 23, 2026; Feb. 9, 2026).

Communities must meet NFIP flood rules

The new or modified flood hazard information is the basis for floodplain management measures that a community is required either to adopt or to show evidence of already having in effect to remain qualified for participation in the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). These measures are the minimum required together with the criteria in 44 CFR 60.3.

Final maps available for inspection

Each finalized Letter of Map Revision (LOMR) is available for inspection at the Community Map Repository address listed in the notice and online through FEMA's Map Service Center at https://msc.fema.gov. Interested lessees and owners of real property in the listed communities are encouraged to review the final flood hazard information at those locations.
