Child care inside senior care homes
If enacted, this would fund competitive grants so long-term care providers (like nursing homes and assisted living) could run on-site child care. Grants could also pay to coordinate activities between kids and residents, and to build or expand space for this. Each grant would last at least 36 months. Applicants would need to screen visitors, follow state and local infection and sanitation rules, and use licensed child care. Grantees would evaluate results and send a report within 6 months after the grant ends. The Assistant Secretary would send a combined report to Congress 6 months after getting all grantee reports.
