Better snow and water forecasts for Northeast
If enacted, the Secretary of Agriculture would expand the snow survey and water supply forecasting program. It would cover Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, New York, and any other states the Secretary adds. Farmers, towns, and residents in those states could get better snowpack and water-supply data. That data could help plan crops, manage water, and prepare for floods. This part of the bill does not set funding or a timeline.
