FECA Forms Affect Claim Outcomes

If you are a federal employee filing a FECA claim, OWCP uses the listed forms (CA-7, CA-16, CA-17, CA-20, CA-1332, CA-1090, CA-1305, CA-1331/CA-1087, and OWCP-5s) plus medical evidence to decide eligibility and compute benefit rates. The notice states that without the requested information, entitlements could be denied or delayed, or benefits could be authorized at an incorrect rate, resulting in underpayments or overpayments.

The Department of Labor is extending the information collection for FECA claim and medical forms. The collection lists 279,100 respondents and 279,100 annual responses, with 26,648 annual burden hours and $173,740 in annual respondent or recordkeeper cost. Comments are due May 19, 2026 for OMB Control No. 1240-0046.
