Published Date: 4/1/2026

Notice

Summary

Every five years, the U.S. checks if certain import taxes on products like steel nails and pigments from countries like China, India, and Korea should continue. These reviews, starting in May 2026, decide if the taxes stop unfair pricing or subsidies and protect American businesses. If the taxes end, prices might drop, but U.S. companies could face more competition.

Five-Year Duty Sunset Reviews Start

Every five years, the Department of Commerce will review whether certain antidumping and countervailing duty orders should continue. Reviews scheduled to begin in May 2026 cover specific products and country orders including Carbazole Violet Pigment 23 from China and India; Steel Grating from China; Steel Nails from Korea, Malaysia, Oman, Taiwan, and Vietnam; and Welded Line Pipe from Korea and Türkiye. The reviews decide whether revoking these duties would likely lead to resumed dumping or subsidized imports and material injury; if the duties end, prices might drop but U.S. companies could face more competition.
