Bill Overview

Analyzed Economic Effects

2 provisions identified: 2 benefits, 0 costs, 0 mixed.

Fish and Game board conflict rules

Members of the Board of Fisheries and the Board of Game must disclose any personal or family interest tied to a fish or game business or group. After disclosure, they may still deliberate or participate in the matter. If the supervisor or a majority of the board finds their continued involvement would break ethics rules, the member may not vote on that item. This law is in effect now.

State officials: no coercion or politics

The law bans public officers from coercing subordinates or making other officers do private work for them. It also bans using or approving state money, property, staff, or equipment for partisan political purposes. "Partisan" means aiming to help or hurt a candidate, potential candidate, party, or group; normal official duties that serve the public are allowed. Limited exceptions let the governor use the residence for political strategy meetings, and use state aircraft or residence communications gear if there is no charge to the state. This law is in effect now.
