No synthetic dyes in school meals

Beginning January 1, 2028, Alaska public schools cannot serve breakfast or lunch that contains certain synthetic food dyes. The banned dyes are Red Dye 3, Red Dye 40, Yellow Dye 5, Yellow Dye 6, Blue Dye 1, Blue Dye 2, and Green Dye 3. This applies only to breakfasts and lunches the school provides to enrolled students during the school day.
