Creates Jonesville Public Use Area

The law creates the Jonesville Public Use Area. It covers state-owned, vacant and unappropriated land and water within set Seward Meridian townships. This includes Townships 19N and 20N, Ranges 2E and 3E. The Department manages the area for public use, and other uses must be compatible. Valid existing rights remain in place. The law takes effect immediately.

Repeals older land management laws

The law repeals AS 41.21.518, 41.21.520, and 41.21.522. It also repeals Section 2, chapter 132, Session Laws of Alaska 1992. This removes older land-management rules tied to this area. The repeal takes effect immediately.
