2 provisions identified: 0 benefits, 0 costs, 2 mixed.

No more daylight saving time in Alaska

Beginning the earlier of two events, Alaska stops observing daylight saving time. One event is this: the U.S. Department of Transportation places all areas east of longitude -155.00 W, with small local boundary changes if requested, into Pacific Standard Time. The other is March 11, 2028. During the federal daylight saving period each year, the whole state stays on standard time and does not move clocks forward.

Petition to move eastern Alaska to Pacific Time

The Legislature must immediately ask the U.S. Department of Transportation to move all of Alaska east of longitude -155.00 W into Pacific Standard Time. Nearby communities can request small boundary changes in the petition. If the department has not made this change by January 1, 2028, the petition requirement ends.
