Bill Overview

Analyzed Economic Effects

2 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 0 costs, 1 mixed.

More protections for manufactured-home buyers

Arizona installers must carry insurance for damage they cause to a manufactured or mobile home and its supports, including the cost of replacing the home. Dealers must tell buyers in covered transactions that they can request independent escrow in writing by the time they sign; the seller must agree. Otherwise, the dealer’s trust account holds the money. Dealers or manufacturers must fix or replace minor issues found during a walk-through within 90 days after the cosmetic complaint period ends. If a needed item is unavailable, they must give the buyer written notice.

Fingerprint cards for license renewals

Manufactured-home licensees must include a valid fingerprint clearance card with a renewal application. A complete application filed before the license expires, with the required fee and bond proof, lets the licensee keep working while the state reviews it.
