Court review rights for patients

Patients receiving court-ordered treatment, or someone acting for them, can ask a court to review whether treatment should continue. Usually, they must wait 60 days after the original order or the last review decision; listed statutory exceptions remain. The treatment agency must send the request and a current psychiatric report to the court clerk within seven business days. Patients must hear about review and attorney-consultation rights at least every 60 days; for a confined patient, the court must give notice within one day and appoint an attorney within two days if the patient has none.
