Arizona space plates require setup payment

The Arizona Department of Transportation issues Arizona space commission plates after a person pays $32,000 by December 31, 2026, to set up the program. The department approves the plate’s design and color. The $25 fee for an original plate or renewal is split into an $8 administration fee and a $17 annual donation to the space research fund. The director may let people combine a special-plate request with a personalized-plate request, which has extra fees.
