New rules for Arizona behavior analysts

The act takes effect December 31, 2026, and these changes begin January 1, 2027. The psychologist board shrinks from 10 members to 8: five licensed psychologists and three public members. Public members cannot have a major health care industry financial interest or a household member eligible for licensure under the chapter. The board oversees licensing, renewals, discipline, and investigations, and must delegate specified behavior analyst licensing powers to the committee and adopt a policy statement for each power. The committee has five practicing, licensed behavior analysts, must get input from licensees or their representatives before final recommendations, and may recommend only general regulatory changes. Committee members receive ethics and open-meeting training; they serve five-year terms, with no more than two consecutive terms.
