Police plate buyers pay annual fees

The law creates Arizona police foundation special plates. Buyers pay $25 for an original plate and each renewal: $8 for administration and $17 as an annual donation. Before the plates are issued, a person must pay $32,000 for implementation by December 31, 2026. Each year, the director gives the remaining fund money to an eligible nonprofit that supports unmet needs and crisis aid for officers and their families in a police department serving a city with more than one million people, and promotes programs that build trust between police and the public. No more than 10% of yearly deposits may pay to administer the fund.
