Florida's state land trustees must transfer full ownership of about 41.1 acres in Martin County, including improvements, to Tequesta's Village Council. The law takes effect upon becoming law or on June 1, 2026, whichever is earlier. The transfer must happen within 60 days after that date. Tequesta must manage and protect the land as a public park and greenspace for nature-based recreation, education, conservation, and protection of natural and historic resources. The Village must keep ownership forever. Any sale or other disposal returns the property and improvements to the state, including improvements funded partly or fully by Tequesta.
