The Citrus County Hospital Board must adopt a wind-down plan by September 30, 2026. It must address all debts and obligations and the use of remaining assets, including distributions to the community trust or foundation. On October 1, 2026, the board dissolves, and chapters 2011-256 and 2014-254, Laws of Florida, are repealed. That day, all board assets and liabilities transfer to the Citrus County Board of County Commissioners. The county must use assets first to pay the former district’s liabilities. Any remaining assets must follow the board’s plan, which must be consistent with those two chapters. The irrevocable community trust or foundation established under chapter 2014-254 may keep operating under general law despite the repeal. The law specifies no direct change to household costs, benefits, or hospital services.
