Gaming commission privacy continues with safeguards

The law keeps Florida Gaming Control Commission information private when it is already protected from public disclosure. It removes the scheduled October 2, 2026 repeal and takes effect upon becoming law. The commission can share protected information with state agencies or other government bodies while carrying out its duties. Recipients must keep that information protected. Meeting portions discussing protected information are closed to the public, but only for the minimum time necessary. The chair must explain the need for closure at a public meeting and provide a written declaration available to the public. Attendance is limited to commission members, supporting commission or Department of Legal Affairs staff, and others needed to present protected information. The commission must record and keep the entire closed session, including start and end times, all proceedings, and everyone's names. Nothing can be off the record. Recordings, minutes, and other closed-session records remain confidential until the underlying information is no longer protected.
