Higher fines for repeat unlicensed engineering violations

Beginning July 1, 2026, people who repeatedly practice engineering without a license in Florida face department-imposed civil fines. The fine is $10,000 for a second violation and $15,000 for a third. It rises to $20,000 for a fourth violation and $25,000 for a fifth or any later violation. These fines replace the penalties otherwise applied under the law's existing disciplinary penalty rules for these repeat violations.
