Fewer rules for thermal styling equipment sellers

Beginning July 1, 2025, Idaho ends registration requirements for retail thermal styling equipment sellers. The law also removes these sellers from specific dealer inspection and facility licensing rules. Employees remain exempt from professional licensing when their work is limited to equipment demonstrations at the seller’s premises. Demonstrations must be tied to a sale or attempted sale. Customers cannot be charged for demonstrations beyond the regular equipment price.
