Makeup artists no longer need state credentials

Beginning July 1, 2025, Idaho exempts makeup artists and businesses from its barber and cosmetology licensing, certification, and registration requirements. The law also removes the separate makeup artist certificate. Covered services include noninvasive skin cleansing and applying makeup or pigments to cover, camouflage, or decorate skin.
