Beginning January 1, 2026, eligible Idaho vehicle owners can get optional An Appeal to Heaven plates with Transportation Department approval. Vehicles with a registered maximum gross weight over 26,000 pounds are excluded. The plates cost $35 initially and $25 at each annual renewal, in addition to regular registration fees. Personalization adds no fee; sample plates cost $15 and cannot be personalized. The design follows the 1968 postal stamp honoring George Washington’s cruisers flag, with a tree and “AN APPEAL TO HEAVEN.” Moving plates to another vehicle requires transfer fees and new registration. Program fees go to the state highway account for plate design and administration.
