Beginning July 1, 2025, each spouse can separately claim an Idaho homestead exemption. A married owner's homestead can include property the spouses own together or either spouse's separately owned property. An unmarried owner can select a homestead from any property they own. Each spouse's exemption uses the amount set by Idaho Code section 55-1003; this law does not state that amount.
