People who violate Idaho pipeline safety or gas transportation laws face civil penalties tied to federal rules. This also covers violations of related Idaho Public Utilities Commission orders and rules, and arranging or helping with violations. The law removes Idaho’s former limits of $2,000 per violation per day and $200,000 for a related series of violations. Penalties now follow 49 C.F.R. 190.223 as it stood when the violation occurred. The law took effect immediately upon passage and approval.
