More theater access for under-21 guests

Beginning July 1, 2025, Idaho allows people under 21 into qualifying movie theaters selling beer or wine for on-site drinking. The theater’s license must have been valid, active, and neither suspended nor revoked on that date. This category covers theaters used only to show movies. People under 21 can also enter theaters in buildings listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Those buildings no longer need to have been built before January 1, 1950. Films and other visual material must comply with Idaho and federal indecency and obscenity laws. These entry rules do not let people under 21 buy or drink alcohol. Beer-license applications solely for live-performance theaters or movie theaters in listed historic buildings must identify that purpose.
