Reliable funds for rangeland improvements

Beginning July 1, 2026, the state sets up a Rangeland Improvement Account in the state treasury. Money in the account is always available and can be used only for rangeland improvement. Interest earned stays in the account. The account can receive money from sales, leases, fees, and grants from governments and private groups. The Department runs the account and awards funds under the program’s rules. Each year, the Department reports to the Joint Finance-Appropriations Committee and the Senate and House resources committees on all money in and out. This removes the need for a yearly line‑item appropriation and helps approved projects get steady funding.
