Annual report on rangeland funds

The Idaho Department of Lands must send a yearly report on the account. The report lists all money going in and out for the last fiscal year. It goes to the Joint Finance-Appropriations Committee and the Senate and House resource committees. Reporting starts with the first fiscal year after July 1, 2026.

Steady funding for Idaho rangeland work

The law creates a Rangeland Improvement Account in the Idaho state treasury. Money in the account is continuously appropriated, so it can be spent without a new yearly approval. Funds can come from sales, leases, fees, state or federal money, and private grants. Any interest earned stays in the account. The Idaho Department of Lands runs the account and gives out funds for rangeland projects under Idaho law. These rules take effect July 1, 2026.
