Digital car registration now allowed

Beginning July 1, 2026, you can carry or show your vehicle registration card in an electronic format. You must have the registration while driving and show it to a peace officer on request. A paper card still works too.

Pay $5 for replacement registration

Beginning July 1, 2026, you pay $5 each time the Department gives you a printed replacement vehicle registration receipt.
