Federal scholarship program opens to Idaho students

Idaho elects to join a federal tax-credit scholarship program. Beginning July 1, 2026, eligible Idaho students can get scholarships through qualified Idaho organizations. Each year by January 1, the State Department of Education sends the U.S. Treasury a list of qualified Idaho scholarship groups and posts the list online. The department accepts organization submissions year-round and follows federal rules so Idaho participates for taxable years starting in 2027. The department may begin implementation work immediately to meet these deadlines.
