2027 funding for Legislature offices

The law funds the Legislative Services Office at $11,999,400 for July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027. It sets $10,246,300 for personnel and $1,753,100 for operating costs there. Money comes from the General Fund ($8,943,600), Technology Infrastructure Stabilization Fund ($142,300), Miscellaneous Revenue Fund ($211,800), Legislative Capitol Facilities Fund ($440,000), and a Professional Services Fund ($2,261,700). The Office of Performance Evaluations gets $1,089,700 ($1,048,900 personnel; $40,800 operating). The total for both offices is $13,089,100. The law takes effect July 1, 2026.

Keep Legislature tech funds for 2027

Any unspent American Rescue Plan (State Fiscal Recovery Fund) money for the Legislative Technology Program from fiscal year 2026 is reappropriated. It can pay for one-time technology costs from July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027. The State Controller confirms the amounts by fund, expense class, and program with the Legislative Services Office before processing.

Legislature offices can shift funds in 2027

From July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027, the Legislative Services Office and the Office of Performance Evaluations can move money between programs and expense classes without the usual limits. They still cannot move money from one fund to another unless the Legislature approves it. This gives the two offices more flexibility to manage their 2027 budgets.
