Earlier mail ballots and faster results

If your precinct is a mail ballot precinct, ballots are mailed no earlier than 45 days before the election and no later than 11 days before. A mail ballot precinct has 140 or fewer registered voters and must be designated by April 1 in an even-numbered year. County commissioners must finish the canvass within 9 days after the election, down from 10 days.

Conservation district elections now in odd years

Soil and water conservation district supervisor elections now happen in odd-numbered years, on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November. The election set for November 2026 is moved to November 7, 2027, for a four-year term. The election set for November 2028 is moved to November 2029, also for a four-year term.
