More federal funds, fewer staff at State Board of Education

For July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027, the State Board of Education’s administration program gets $4,998,400. $998,400 comes from the state General Fund and $4,000,000 comes from a Federal Grant Fund. Of the federal money, $1,090,400 is for operating costs and $2,909,600 is for trustee and benefit payments. The law also cuts General Fund support by $510,500 for that year ($492,300 personnel; $18,200 operating). It lowers authorized full-time positions by 4.00 for the same period. The act takes effect July 1, 2026.
