Science education center loses funding and staffing

For July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027, the law cuts Idaho’s STEM Action Center funding by $5.9905 million. The $3.0606 million General Fund cut covers $774,400 for trustee and personnel costs, $1.1957 million for operations, $90,500 for equipment and other capital spending, and $1 million for benefits. The $2.9299 million STEM Education Fund cut includes $100,000 for trustee and personnel costs and $2.8299 million for operations. The law also removes authority for seven full-time equivalent positions during that period. Effective upon enactment, it cuts another $76,400 from General Fund funding for July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026. That earlier-year cut includes $33,100 for operations and $43,300 for trustee and benefit payments. The law does not name specific service cuts or direct household payments.

Workforce council gets funding and more staffing

For July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027, the law provides Idaho’s Workforce Development Council $4.2342 million. This includes $3.0842 million from the General Fund and $1.15 million from the In-Demand Careers Fund. The General Fund money covers $696,800 for trustee and personnel costs, $1.0941 million for operations, and $1.2933 million for benefits. Separately, the law cuts In-Demand Careers Fund spending by $400,000 for personnel and $750,000 for operations. For the same period, it adds authority for six full-time equivalent positions. These agency budget changes do not set a direct household payment.
