Irrigation officials gain limited recharge contract exception

Beginning July 1, 2025, Idaho irrigation district directors and other officers can hold direct or indirect interests in board-awarded recharge contracts. They must receive no profits from those contracts. The ban on interests in other district contracts remains. Violations remain misdemeanors and require loss of office. Penalties also include a fine up to $500, county jail for up to six months, or both.
