Idaho brewers gain shops with licensing limits

Beginning July 1, 2026, qualifying Idaho brewers can sell beer at their main licensed brewery and two remote retail locations, up from one. They must produce fewer than 30,000 barrels yearly, counting beer made outside Idaho. Sales can include any brewery’s beer by the bottle, can, or glass. Brewers must pay the annual retailer license fee, other required license fees, and applicable beer taxes. Brewers that later exceed 30,000 barrels can keep these retail rights only with yearly approval from Idaho’s licensing director. They need at least five years of continuous Idaho brewing and physical presence, and must surrender any wholesale license. They also must have no license suspension or revocation lasting multiple days during their production operations.
